While the proposal results in the loss of 11 Single Room Accommodation (SRA) designated rooms, it results in two positive housing benefits: the provision of 20 secured market rental units and a contribution of $750,000 to the Affordable Housing Fund, which speak to the City's housing objectives.
Furthermore, the approval of this rezoning would deliver a cultural amenity, in the form of artist studio space, in response to Council policies to support Vancouver artists and the creative economy.
